Optimal Covering with Mobile Sensors in an Unbounded Region

چکیده
Covering a bounded region with minimum number of homogeneous sensor nodes is a NP-complete problem [7]. In this paper we have proposed an id based distributed algorithm for optimal coverage in an unbounded region. The proposed algorithm guarantees maximum spreading in O( √ n) rounds without creating any coverage hole. The algorithm executes in synchronous rounds without exchanging any message. We have also explained how our proposed algorithm can achieve optimal energy consumption and handle random sensor node deployment for optimal spreading.

UNBOUNDEDNESS IN MOILP AND ITS EFFICIENT SOLUTIONS
In this paper we investigate Multi-Objective Integer Linear Programming (MOILP) problems with unbounded feasible region and introduce recession direction for MOILP problems. Then we present necessary and sufficient conditions to have unbounded feasible region and infinite optimal values for objective functions of MOILP problems. Finally we present some examples with unbounded feasible region and fi...
متن کاملFinding the Optimal Place of Sensors for a 3-D Damped Wave Equation by using Measure Approach
In this paper, we model and solve the problem of optimal shaping and placing to put sensors for a 3-D wave equation with constant damping in a bounded open connected subset of 3-dimensional space. The place of sensor is modeled by a subdomain of this region of a given measure. By using an approach based on the embedding process, first, the system is formulated in variational form;...
متن کاملDesigning Path Planning Algorithms for Mobile Anchor towards Range-Free Localization
Localization is one of the most important factor in wireless sensor networks as many applications demand position information of sensors. Recently there is an increasing interest on the use of mobile anchors for localizing sensors. Most of the works available in the literature either looks into the aspect of reducing path length of mobile anchor or tries to increase localization accuracy. The c...

Developing optimal flocking control procedure is an essential problem in mobile sensor networks (MSNs). Furthermore, finding the parameters such that the sensors can reach to the target in an appropriate time is an important issue. This paper offers an optimization approach based on metaheuristic methods for flocking control in MSNs to follow a target. We develop a non-differentiable optimizati...
متن کاملOptimal SQUID based non-destructive test for detecting sub-surface defects with the help of advanced SQUID superconducting sensors and an experimental approach for optimal production method of these sensors from the YBCO superconductor materials
The conventional eddy current method for non-destructive inspection of welding joints has limitations that can examine defects to a certain depth below the surface of the sample and is not suitable for determining deep defects. This limitation can be overcome using the SQUID superconducting sensors. The nonstoichiometric composition of YBCO due to its superconducting temperature and desired cri...
